Well that's good to hear. Due to the change in computer systems, my web pages are going to move. I'm still waiting for my new account details, which I should hopefully get this afternoon. I was all finished and ready to go live with them, but now I'm going to have wait. And so will this thing. Damnit! Watch this space this afternoon though, and you might just get some action!!

Ok, so there I was making my webpage, which is not yet ready to be seen. I put in a link to this place, and tested the link and it worked. Which wasn't meant to happen. Well, obviously I meant for the link to work, but I didn't realise this place would work. It did, which means it can be seen, and I tested it and it couldn't but now it can and it has a link to my pages which are not meant to be seen, not that anybody will be looking at this because it is not public so no one can now about it and...and...and...
Interesting phrasing there Scott, well done on actually passing your english exams all those years ago.
I was hoping to come on here and say that my webapges are nearly finished, but a problem suddenly occurred to me. We, the School of Informatics are currently switching computer systems, from UNIX to LINUX, and the file servers are different. This could effect my webspace. I don't want to go public with pages that are shortly to disappear. I'll look like a buffoon. And the technical person has gone home for the day. Make a note, go see tech dude tomorrow.

Of course, the thing about having a blog, is that in order to post to it you need to remember that you have it. Which I just have so here I am. This isn't public yet, mostly due to the fact that my webpage isn't finished. When it's ready for people to see, when the details of my experiment are in place, then I'll make this public. I (and, I'm sure, my supervisors) are keen for this to be as soon as possible. I don't think I have too much to do before I go public. So long as the webpage is ok, we will be good to go.
From there I will make sure I get my materials all coded up nice so that they work, and then I will start hunting for subjects. Happy days.

Ok, so here goes nothing...
Hi, my name is Scott Nowson and I am a a student at The University of Edinburgh. I am planning on spending the summer working on studying blogs, and so I decided to start a blog of my own. The reasons for this are two-fold:
1) - If I am going to study blogs, i should really know a little more about how they work. The best way to do this is to do a blog of my own.
2) - I felt that the participants in my work (oh yes, I'm going to be asking people for help at some point) might be interested in how the project is progessing. This isn't a blog of blogs, it's a blog on blogs. so to speak.
So there you go. I can't reveal too much at this time, until I have everything ready, but I will say that I am looking at writing style within diary-style blogs. The plan is to post here with the progress I am making, to be part of the blogging community I am studying, and it can advertise my experiment. So my reasons for this blog have become, live, as I write, three-fold. I really should think these things through.
