Consistency Reigns
Kept that up for oh so long. But can you blame me...I've not really had much worth saying. As I had to really concentrate of writing my conference paper, I had to put my outside work, the work that pays, to the backburner. So since I finished the paper, I've been pretty much working on that to catch up.

It's going pretty well, getting through. Finish my second lot today, and I now have a third block of data to work my way through. Fun fun fun.

I'm also working on my plan of action for the rest of my time. I doubt it'll end end up as an accurate day by day account of the next several months. I'll be happy with a reasonable estimate of the next few months. It'll help me map out all the work I have left to do.

Mucking around
Check my hits...masseeev. Ok, so they are all me, but I'm just trying to get my commenting to work. Let me try this...

Il Completo
'Tis done. The paper is submitted. And even if I do say so myself, it's a fine quality piece. Certainly one of the best looking pieces of work I have produced in some time. It's all papery and scientific looking. Which is good.

Work is progressing in other areas, with discussions soon to be held with regards to the future. You know, things to do when I'm done.

But speaking of finishing, I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I will be finishing soon. I mean I say soon, but it's still a few month off, and when I say finishing I don't mean "I'm aiming to finish" I mean that I will be finished. I have to submit by the end of September, otherwise my funding body of previous years (though not this one so really who are they to set deadlines) will be upset. So there you go. 7 and a half months to go.

One thing this paper has shown me is what I can really achieve if I knuckle down good. You can make really good progress on quality work if you try. Which is what I shall be endeavouring to do for the next few months. Of course, I still have "work to get paid" things to do, but I shall be just as focussed on them so as not to let them eat too much into my PhDing time.

Of course blogging could be a waste of time, but I'm going to try and use this as a place to focus my thoughts. I'll make sure I update at least once a week, and try for more. We'll see. I'd really like my comments working again, but I don't know why they are not. I guess I should look into other providers, since I know not my details with enetation. It's such a shame I lost all my previous comments though, there were some interesting points in them. If anyone has any ideas leave a com...pfft.

El Paperino
So, it seems I have finished my first proper paper. I've been very busy working on it for the last couple of weeks. Putting together the data, getting the words down on paper. My supervisor revised big chunks. I revised a little. We revised a little more. I guess that's the time consuming thing, the constant revisions, getting it just so. You just know that as soon as you submit you are going to think of something else.

Something I came across in recent times, the ACM did a special issue on The Blogosphere. There are some interesting looking pieces in it, though I think you might have to be accessing it from within an academic institution to be able to read them. Sorry.

Anyway, should here about the paper in late April, and I will of course let you know.
